Sailing Ship

The fog pulls in,
The course is lost,
And as the ship sails,
Its passengers are tossed.
But the captain sails on,
All hope is not lost,
For the sailors are faithful,
Despite pessimistic thoughts.
As they continue,
The storm rages on,
The darkness surrounds them,
And time passes along.
For many days,
Through just as many nights,
The crew face many toils,
And experience overwhelming frights.
But no one loses faith,
They all stay true,
Their ship sails on,
Through the rough sea of blue.
But the supplies are running low,
The sailors need sleep,
Everyone is hungry,
And the captain begins to weep.
He locks himself in his office,
And he begins to pray,
Though he has little hope,
He prays the storm will not stay.
The day ends,
The night passes by,
The storm rages on,
And the captain fears his crew will die.
But the following day,
His fears are put to rest,
And although it had been hard,
His faith had endured the lengthy test.
The sun comes out,
The sea grows still,
The crew celebrates,
Everyone eats their fill.
They had passed through the storm,
And were now ready to go,
But first they needed supplies,
So they sailed for a cove.
After only a few days,
They reached their destination,
They loaded food and water,
And stayed the night in that location.
The following day, though,
They boarded the ship,
And readied themselves,
For their next trying trip.

Peace,
Justin
